We've been living in St. George for four months. The time is flying. I am two weeks away from little guy's due date and feeling like a slacker because I didn't finish all of the things I thought I would be able to. Like our scrapbooks for the last six years or learning how to quilt...or updating the blog! So, here I am playing catch up again. I'll try not to get too detailed and wordy, but I have to be honest with you...I'm at home with a 3 year old all day and my hubby doesn't get home till 10:30. I might get a little wordy.
First of all, we are making St. George our permanent home. The original plan was to stay in the Snow's condo until Travis was licensed in Nevada and we found a house in Overton. Well, after some God-given intervention (I'm pretty sure He's looking out for us), our plans changed. I wish I could justly explain everything that led us to this point. Let me just say that I know I have a Father in heaven. He absolutely is involved in and aware of each of our lives.
So here we are, big time adults, living in the in-laws vacation rental condo. It's an 80's furnished beauty that has us a bit cramped but comes with a community pool and cheap rent. So there is no complaining here. In fact, we have lived in FAR worse conditions! Travis actually pointed out the other day that this is the first place we have lived together that has Air Conditioning! We are moving up in the world. It's not exactly where I envisioned we would be once we were FINALLY out of school and making real money; but we decided that since we are used to student living anyway, it's a good time to keep pinching the pennies and pay off the student loans. Dave Ramsey style, baby!
Travis
Is commuting to Overton three (sometimes four) days a week. He leaves at 7:30 and gets home around 10:30. Kind of a long day, but doable until something opens up locally. He was recently made manager and taking on the role like a champ. I am one proud wifey. He is happy to be living in a place that has golf year round and is close to family. His little brother, Trent, will be leaving for his mission to Brazil next month and we've been able to spend a lot of time with him before he leaves.
Kennedy
Turned 3! My goodness, has it really been 3 years since I held her for the first time? She is just as funny, sweet and feisty as ever. The other day, she asked me if I wanted to have some tea (got a tea set for her birthday). I said, "Sure sweetie, let me finish putting these dishes away and I'll be right there". Her response (in the most grown up voice she could muster) "MOM. You have THREE SECONDS to come get your tea. ONE...TWO...." Haha, I came right away of course. Laughing hysterically. When I sat down she said "Now, you have to ask nice and say please or you can't have any tea". Yes ma'am! She is always pulling stunts like that, trying to control me the same way I try to manage her. I have to remind her daily that I'm the mom, not her. Mostly, it's a very revealing mirror to look in and a daily reminder for me that I need to watch what I do and say.
Me
Well, I'm 38+ weeks pregnant; i.e, hot, tired, awkwardly big and in the bathroom 45% of the day because my bladder has been squished to a quarter of it's size. Between me and Kennedy (who hasn't mastered the 5 square rule...it's more like 20) we go through a lot of TP at this house! Still, life is good. I am blessed. Blessed to be able to BE pregnant. It is an amazing privilege and miracle that I try not to take it for granted.
Little Mister
Is still nameless. We have a few on the list that we like; Charlie, Benson, and Oliver. Kennedy is set on Charlie but we'll just have to see who he is when he gets here. Which will actually be on Thursday at the latest!!! I've been walking around dilated to a FIVE for the last week and the doctor scheduled an induction because it will probably be a very fast delivery once I get going. I'm not exactly fond of the idea of induction but it does help eliminate some of the chance that I will have a baby on my kitchen floor while Travis is an hour away. Yeah, no thanks. So if all goes according to plan, I will have my baby boy in my arms in 4 days! I'm so excited to hold him.
